WHEN IS THE BEST TIME TO GET MY SCAR PROCEDURE DONE?
NOW IS THE BEST TIME!
So you are thinking about it now. So now is the best time.
Having said that.....the winter months are the best time of year to undergo blemish, scar, and tattoo removal in Florida. Your aftercare is easier in the cooler months, when you wear more clothes and avoid the sun and outdoor activities. Scar removal patients are generally restricted from water-submerging activities, activities that cause heavy sweating such as exercise and heavy labor. Patients are restricted from applying chemicals including makeup over the treated area. All of these are easier to do in the cooler months, as opposed to the heat of the summer. But gals are always saying, "I want to look good in a bathing suit." and then they are requesting services in the summer months, too.

DOES IT MATTER HOW MY SCAR WAS CREATED?
Many people are worried about having to tell us their story about how the scar was created. Yes, you can tell your story, and how it was made. But how it was made does not change how the scar will be camouflaged. All scars are treated in the same way. The major difference in your individual treatment will be your unique colors, the area or skin size needed to be covered, your individual skin condition, and the number of sessions it will take to achieve the desired results.
When evaluating a scar for corrective micropigmentation, the “source of the scar” is not as important as how it looks and feels
ARE SCARS PERMANENT?
Most scars do not have to be permanent, you get to decide.
Come tell us your story of why you want your scars to fade away.

CAN A SCAR BE EASILY REMOVED?
Actually, an older scar is easier to remove. A new scar takes more sessions to remove. All this assumes that you are a good candidate for removal, and the only way to know is to book a consultation.

HOW SHOULD MY SCAR LOOK AND FEEL?
How does the scar look?
The scars should be at least 1 year old and be totally healed. The scar should be a lighter color than the surrounding skin to be safe for effective scar camouflage.
How does the scar feel? Some scars are raised and feels lumpy and bumpy. This is also known as scar tissue. To do our best work, the scar may need to be smoothed out, or continue to heal before applying permanent makeup color.
At your consultation appointment, you will be asked some questions about your medical history, your medicines, and your skin health. After this evaluation, together will agree on the best plan for your individual situation.

IS EVERYONE A GOOD CANDIDATE FOR SCAR CAMOUFLAGE?
Not everyone is a good candidate for scar camouflage.
Patients with keloid problems or who have developed a raised scar after surgery or a previous tattoo may not be good candidates for this procedure.
Patients with prior camouflages with scarring.
Patients with active infections should wait until the infection has cleared before seeking treatment.
Patients requesting areola and scar tissue tattooing after breast surgery will need to obtain your breast surgeon's approval before having the camouflage procedure.
WHAT ARE THE INDUSTRY'S SCAR REMOVAL OPTIONS?
DO YOU DO LASER REMOVAL?
A laser is an intense beam of light energy directed at your skin. The beam of light destroys the outer layer of the skin (epidermis). It also heats the underlying skin (dermis). The skin can blister and the laser light is not natural and is harmful to the skin. Laser ages your skin. The laser causes blistering and peeling. Now heat from the laser can cause a peel, all this could cause additional scarring. This is not a good recipe for healthy skin.
For these reasons, FabULash does NOT offer Laser scar removal.
No laser services are offered in the FabULash studio.
Instead, FabULash offers Permanent Makeup that covers up the scar.

WHAT HAPPENS AT THE APPOINTMENT?
After your consultation/evaluation, a session to treat the scar could be booked. If you are a good candidate, then a session to treat the scar will be scheduled. This first treatment will show how your skin reacts to the procedure.
WHAT IS SCAR CAMOUFLAGE?
Scar Camouflage is a skin-colored tattoo, implanted into the skin. Paramedical practitioner will mix personalized permanent makeup pigments for your skin type. Then these inks are gently and artistically tattooed into the skin to camouflage the scar.
To achieve the most natural results, when camouflaging a scar, more than one skin pigment colors are blended to realistically match the color of the skin surrounding the scar.

Your tattoo artist needs to have:
an eye for color and be able to see your skin color
be able to match your skin color in ink
be able to precisely use a tattoo needle
be able to artistically apply that color to your skin.
Scar camouflage or ‘skin colored tattooing’ is a safe and non-invasive procedure, with little to no downtime.
WHAT ARE THE RISKS?
Your artist will use needles to penetrate the skin surface and the treatment is not without risk.
The main risks include:
Slight skin irritation
Uneven pigment color
Not achieving an exact color match
Fading of color over time
Pigment migration or spreading
Scar tissue accepts implanted pigment very differently from that of normal tissue and can result in uneven coloring.
Sometimes the body reacts with keloids (raised scarring). This is usually because the scar was not fully healed. It is usually best to wait until the scar tissue is mature and that can be anywhere up to 12 months.
WHAT OTHER FACTORS AFFECT THE RESULTS?
Many variables can impact the final results. These variations in the camouflage color could be affected by:
