This treatment, called scalp or hair micropigmentation (SMP), lasts up to 4 - 6 years. Both micropigmentation and microblading are considered permanent makeup and can be used as effective, low-maintenance solutions for hair loss.

What is Scalp Micropigmentation?
Scalp or hair micropigmentation is a superficial cosmetic tattoo that gives the illusion of density to a thinning crown. It does not require surgery or head shaving, and most clients see results in just one session.
The model has dark hair and this contrasts dramatically with thinning hair and scalp. She has gotten a scalp hair line tattoo. This scalp micropigmentation is a permanent makeup, non-surgical, or cosmetic tattoo. It gives the illusion of a close-cut hairstyle and density to a thinning crown. The artist will draw microlines on your head to simulate hair on the scalp.

Scalp and hairline micropigmentation is a Hair Tattoo or a Head Tattoo done on the scalp. But not just any tattoo artist can create the unique look of natural hair. You will want a great artist to work on your head. You will want an artist who can create the look of hair follicles by implanting your precise pigment color into the scalp. Before beginning the process, the artist develops a series of tints that match the color of your real hair and skin tone.
You will want that artist to use only top-of-the-line, industry-specific ink, that will not turn green or blue. Another common cause of discoloration is poor technique – heavy handedness of going too deep with the needle or going too dark with the pigment.
Finally, micropigmentation is performed using an electric tattoo device. It is used to draw in small strokes or dots that mimic real hair follicles. A skilled artist will have the talent to ensure the dots look like natural hair follicles and blend in smoothly. This is the technique called scalp micropigmentation — a dot-by-dot application of dyes — that mimics pointillism and is used to create the appearance of hair fullness. This process is to simulate hair on the scalp, so that the contrast between the hair and the scalp is less dramatic, especially when the hair is parted.
After the process is completed, you can return to your normal activities immediately. Thinning Hair Aftercare instructions will be provided.
